What about delivery and care of favors?

We ship on the Monday prior to the event, 3 Day UPS, to arrive on the following Thursday, unless otherwise requested.

Open box and examine trees to ensure viability.  Any damaged trees received by you will be replaced, provided The GreenWorld Project is notified within 24 hours, upon receipt of shipment. Instructions are provided on how to care for the seedlings until your wedding.  There is no additional care you need to do!  Just open the box.  They cannot have direct sunlight or total darkness.  Place in normal room temperature and normal room lighting and they will be fine until the event.

What kind of trees will be sent?

Colorado Blue Spruce (sent to the majority of our states) The Colorado Blue Spruce, our most popular species, is a hardy, adaptable tree with short needles; slow growth rate; prefers full to partial sun; does best in moist, well drained soils, but is tolerant of other soils, often grown for Christmas trees and ornamentals.

Meyer Spruce (sent only to our most Southern/warm states due to availability)
Imported from China the Meyer Spruce (Picea meyeri)  can withstand a wide range of temperatures.  Soft uniform blue-green color; slow growth rate; is tolerant of shade, tolerates a wide range of soil conditions and is very drought tolerant.  Often grown for Christmas trees and ornamentals.

Also available are Afghan Pine and Arizona Cypress (fast growing for very dry, warm climates) & Loblolly Pine (fast growing for wet, warm climates). These tree species are suitable for Mylar Foil Trees, Burlap Trees, Wrapped Memory Trees, Soft Pack Trees and Bag & Tag Trees..

Other species may be available.  If there is a special one you are interested in, just let us know and we will check availability for you.

What if the event is in the Winter months?

We ship our products year round!  Both indoor and outdoor planting instructions are provided, so you may start the seedling indoors and transfer outdoors in the spring.

Planting suggestions for your tree seedlings

Outdoor Planting:

  • Choose a sunny location
  • Prepare a hole 18" across and 12" deep.
  • Half-fill with rich coil. Mix in some dry leaves or pine needles.
  • Remove seedling from protective casing. Center root plug.
  • Fill hole and pack soil firmly but gently.
  • Soak well with at least one gallon of water (under watering is more harmful than over watering.)
  • Water regularly when there is no rain.

Indoor Planting:

  • Choose a large container (approx. one gallon) with drainage holes in the bottom.
  • Follow outdoor planting instructions, watering well.
  • after initial watering, water only when very dry.
  • in the Fall, place in a cool spot away from direct heat, to set dormancy until Spring.
