About

History of The GreenWorld Project

The GreenWorld Project originated in Kingston, New York circa 1990. It was for the love of the environment The GreenWorld Project was born. Its mission was to encourage people to plant trees for many different reasons whether it may be for remembrance, promotional, wedding or baby showers. It was an environmental win.

Itasca Greenhouse, located in Cohasset, Minnesota, had supplied trees for The GreenWorld Project for over seven years. So when The GreenWorld Project was looking to sell, they approached Itasca Greenhouse.

In 1999 Bill and Cathy Sayward owners of Itasca Greenhouse bought and moved The GreenWorld Project from New York to Minnesota.

From 1999 through 2015 The GreenWorld Project has added products throughout the years, but some of the originals such as the Mail-A-Tree and Bag and Tag are still going strong.

2015 was a year of change, as Bill and Cathy looked forward into retirement. Itasca Greenhouse and The GreenWorld Project were bought by Dan and Rachael Nielsen. As new owners, they are dedicated in continuing to improve product lines and having the best interests of the environment in mind.

New varieties of trees are being put into production for future years to accommodate a wide range of climates within the United States.

We are continuing with the same quality customer service and dedicated that has been in place for the past twenty eight years.
